If you have been to my blog in the past and things look a bit different, it is because I am attempting to update the look of it and make it easier to link to my other online shops and more. Kind of like the big project of the summer around here, the new roof, things don’t always go as smoothly as expected.
First section of the old roof has been removed.
The old metal roof had to be removed before new rafters could be built for the new roofing to go on. The demolition was the easy part… We only had the little bit of insulation above our ceilings between us and the open sky for 7 days… We were blessed with no rain thankfully!
Not everything went smoothly with the new roof project either…
As with most projects on old homes, especially this 1975 single-wide, things don’t always go as planned… with the roof, the rafters were all cut ahead in the hopes that they would go up quickly… As you can see above, the first one showed that things were not quite right….

After many days of re-cutting, moving things, shimming and whatnot and the help of some wonderful friends, we finally have a roof over our heads that doesn’t leak!! I am still getting used to not worrying that my buckets are in place during rain showers… That job didn’t go smoothly, but is done enough that we will now stay dry… the finishing touches will come eventually….
So, like the new roof job, Please Pardon any wacky pages or things that might change from hour to hour or not even work around here for a while… I am by no means good with codes and all, but I am attempting to do the changes without completely breaking things…
Thanks in advance your patience with any craziness…. Maybe soon I will even get back to regular blogging again…. No concrete promises, though 😉
