More Wall Progress

Empty Board
Pile
Maple Tree

I hope everyone had a great Easter Weekend, Mine was mostly good, spent with family.

The progress continues on the walls. Here are a few pictures of the piece with the bench, but first, I had to take a picture of my ironing board EMPTY.  Husband needed to iron a shirt- the other picture is my cutting table- the pile. I have had it worse, but the table was clear a week ago, for a few minnutes.

Last picture is of one of our maple trees I took, as a guide for adding a tree behind the wall with the bench. Three nore progress pictures are below.

Here is the bench with the base of the tree added, and 2 groups of Siberian Irises, that I cut out of a floral fabric, and brightened up with pastels.

The next step was quilting the branches of the tree, then adding the leaves- 3 different green printed fabrics, cut and fused.

The garden now has pink flowers added. I guess I'll think of them as petunias, mounding at the bases of the Iris clumps. I used clear thread to quilt the leaves, flowers, and bench. I think there will be some shimmery organza clouds in the sky, and I need to work on shading the cap stones of the wall, to make them look like they lay flat on the top of the wall. I'll see what I can do with more pastel work. I,m not sure if this will get a border or not, It will need some playing with, on the design wall- it is about 13"x17" now.
I have to get my seeds started, so that I'm ready to plant the real gardens, snow is expected again tonight, hopefully the last of the season, and not too much.

More progress will be posted later.

About

I am a former textile artist and new pattern designer with a degree in horticulture, wishing to share my love of nature, flowers and gardens with everyone through my photos, sunprinted fabrics, and now pattern designs. Chronic Lyme Disease has caused major changes to the direction my life. I have to limit the amount of time spent digging in my gardens, and quilting has become more difficult. I discovered pattern design as a way to get art back into my life. I now use my gardens and photos to inspire designs that can be used on fabrics and print on demand items.
