Some finished works!

I finally glued myself to my sewing machine, and was able to actually finish a few small pieces!  I had been fusing, cutting, and stitching for quite a while now, without finishing much.  I had black thread in my machine, so I wanted to finish, using pieces that had started while I was working on the border for my "puzzle" in progress. I just sarted pulling out sunprints, and stitching, and these are what turned up.

Two 8×10" pieces

Maidenhair has same border as my "puzzle"  Main pieces seamed with black thread, and bound with black yarn.

Trillium Art Quilt made of sandwiches stitched with black thread.  A photo was used as a "pattern".  Assorted painted fabrics used.

I'm having trouble placing pics where I want.  These 2 are 5×7" pieces, done to look like stained glass.

After finishing the stained glass pieces, I switched to ivory thread, and made some lighter pieces.

The sherbet fern is quilted with clear thread, the painted butterfly is quilted in the center with clear, and in the border with a pastel variegated thread. These 2 are 8×10"

The following are all different 5×7" pieces. Once I got rolling, I kept on using pieces as I cut them up from  larger pieces of fused crazy patch and sunprints. The sunprint on the right has been overpainted with sparkle paint over wax pastel.

Various versions above.   Sunprints in different sizes used and bordered differently.  Once I get in the groove, I end up using any size piece I have.  Some of the above have been added to my Etsy Store.               www.AndrusGardensQuilts.etsy.com

Now when I realy get carried away, I use all the tiny pieces and make up for bases for pins. The rectangles are about 1 1/4"x2", and edges are finished with various yarns couched on.  Once I get a bunch of these made, I am ready to add beads to them when I have a day where I am travelling, or don't feel like doing anything else. The second pic. shows some closeeer up. All tiny fused sandwiches stitched together however they land.

This is a pin all finished with the beading done.  I put the backs on the fan, and longer shaped ones so that they can also be pinned to a chain to be worn as a pendant. A bunch of these are available at my Etsy store, and my website.

About

I am a former textile artist and new pattern designer with a degree in horticulture, wishing to share my love of nature, flowers and gardens with everyone through my photos, sunprinted fabrics, and now pattern designs. Chronic Lyme Disease has caused major changes to the direction my life. I have to limit the amount of time spent digging in my gardens, and quilting has become more difficult. I discovered pattern design as a way to get art back into my life. I now use my gardens and photos to inspire designs that can be used on fabrics and print on demand items.
